Services were held in Portland for Dallas Leroy Toland, 26, a former Tri-Citian whose parents live in Richland.

He was born March 5, 1944, in Toppenish and had lived in Portland six years. He died May 30, 1970, after falling from a 40-foot cliff at a beach at Brookings, OR.

Mr. Toland graduated with the Class of 1962 from Richland's Columbia High School and was an athletic coach at Portland Christian High School.

He was a member of the Kennewick First Baptist Church and a graduate of the Multnomah School of the Bible. He also attended Cascade College.

Survivors include his wife, Judith of Portland; parents, Edna and Merlyn Dallas Toland of Richland; siblings: Marlyn "Dale" Toland ('61) of Yakima, Linus Toland ('67) who is with the Army in Vietnam and Marlene Toland ('68) of New Jersey.

Burial was at Riverview Abbey in Portland. Memorials may be made to the Portland Christian High School.

NOTE: His father passed away in 1982. His mother passed away February 7, 1999. His brother, Marlyn "Dale" Toland ('61), passed away March 29, 2004.
