Lee Speer

Lee E. Speer Jr died on August 26, 2019.

He was born in Rochester, NY on May 24, 1943. In 1948 his father, Lee Sr, accepted a job with Hanford when the family and his maternal grandmother moved to Richland.

His sister, Regina Speer ('68), was born in Richland.

Lee graduated from Richland's Columbia High School in 1962 and then from Columbia Basin College.

When he was a student at Eastern Washington University he was drafted into the Vietnam War.

After Lee was discharged from the U. S. Army he returned to college and married Anna Glover ('64).

He was a teacher at Ki-Be High School and Kennewick High School.

Lee is survived by his sister, Regina ('68); and by his daughter, Suzanne.

He was predeceased by his parents, Lee Sr and Helen; and by his wife, Anna.

A funeral Mass was held on September 11, 2019, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Richland followed by a reception at the church.
