Bob Nerpel

Ellensburg - Robert G. Nerpel, 23, a Central Washington State College student from Tahuya, Mason County, was injured fatally when he was thrown from his motorcycle after it went out of control on a curve here. He died about an hour later.

Nerpel, who was returning for the summer session at Central Washington, was Ellensburg's first traffic fatality of the year. His death brought the state's toll to 358 for the year compared to 334 at the same time in 1966.

Bob was born in Tacoma, WA on December 4, 1943, and passed away on June 19, 1967.

His parents were August "Gus" T. and Evelyn Nerpel. His brother is Bill Nerpel ('63).

Bob graduated with the Class of 1962 from Richland's Columbia High School. He was married to Janie Moran ('64).

He is buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

His father, Gus Nerpel, passed away July 9, 2014.
