Roxanne Knutson Short ~ recent

Roxanne, one day shy of 72, died January 18, 2016, at Guardian Angel Homes in Richland. She was born in Pasco at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on January 19, 1944, to Palmer and Lucille Knutson.

She grew up on Johnston Avenue in Richland and attended Jefferson Elementary, Chief Jo Junior High and graduated from Richland's Columbia High School in 1962. She received her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree from Columbia Basin College.

She was married to Lynn A. Baker. They resided in the Tri-City area. They had two daughters, Kelly Joanne and Holly JeNeanne. She later remarried Charles Short.

Roxanne worked as an O.B. nurse for Kadlec Hospital for over 20 years. She also did foot care for the elderly at the Lutheran Senior Center for many years.

Roxanne was a hoot. She enjoyed water and snow skiing in her youth, and she was always up for dancing. Roxanne was willing to help anyone in need. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, the VFW and the Richland Lutheran Church.

She is preceded in death by her father, Palmer T. Knutson; her brother, Paul J. Knutson ('59); and husbands, Lynn Baker and Charles Short.

She is survived by her mother, Lucille Knutson; daughters, Kelly and Holly; three grandchildren; and other family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gail Middleton for her diligent and loyal service as Roxanne’s guardian.

Funeral services are to be announced at a later date.
